Little bird

Is there a little bird whispering sweet nothings into the ears of the powers that be? I am sure there are several such little birds who are ever ready to do the needful to promote their own causes by stepping on others. I am also sure these little birds will not even bat an eye (lid?) as they do their little task of being little minions of the power-hungry.
